Wisconsin – A shift in the weather is expected across the state this weekend, with cooler temperatures and scattered showers Sunday before a brief warm-up early next week. However, a winter storm is on track to impact the region by midweek.
According to the National Weather Service in La Crosse, Sunday’s high temperatures will only reach the upper 40s to low 50s, with early morning rain tapering off by evening. Overnight lows will dip into the 20s, making for a chilly start to Monday.
Warmer air moves in for St. Patrick’s Day, with highs climbing into the upper 50s to mid-60s under mostly sunny skies. However, this warm spell will be short-lived as another strong system moves in Tuesday night into Wednesday, bringing the potential for rain and snow.
By midweek, temperatures will drop back into the 30s and 40s, with accumulating snow possible in northern Wisconsin and a wintry mix elsewhere. Drivers should prepare for changing road conditions, especially along major routes such as I-90 and Highway 53.
Looking ahead, the latter part of the week will remain cooler, with highs in the 40s and overnight lows near freezing. Stay updated with the latest forecasts as the winter storm threat develops.
