La Crosse, WI — A chilly start to April continues across Wisconsin as freezing overnight lows and a chance of rain arrive in La Crosse by Friday morning.

Thursday’s weather brings breezy conditions with west winds gusting up to 28 mph and daytime highs nearing 49°F. Residents should prepare for a colder night ahead, as temperatures drop to around 32°F with partly cloudy skies. Drivers along I-90 should remain alert for potential slick spots early Friday.

According to the National Weather Service, La Crosse faces a 30% chance of rain beginning after midnight Thursday into early Friday. While the rain is expected to be light, the timing may affect morning commutes. Winds Friday will be calm but variable, with daytime highs rising to about 55°F.

Saturday and Sunday will bring more seasonable and dry spring weather. Both days will hover near 49°F with mostly sunny skies. Winds will remain light, although Saturday morning may feel cooler with early temperatures dipping to 27°F.

By Monday, skies will remain mostly sunny with highs climbing back into the low 60s. A slight chance of rain returns by Tuesday night into Wednesday.
