Wisconsin Severe Thunderstorm Watch: 15 Million People at Risk in Midwest

Milwaukee, WI – A severe thunderstorm watch covering over 15 million people has been issued for parts of Wisconsin, as well as Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, and Ohio. The watch warns of wind gusts up to 70 mph, frequent lightning, and hail the size of ping pong balls.

The National Weather Service has placed the watch in effect until 11 a.m. CDT Tuesday. Thunderstorms are currently moving southeast across Lake Michigan and are forecasted to arrive in southern Michigan between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. EDT.

Residents in the watch area, including Milwaukee and surrounding regions, are advised to stay alert and prepared for rapidly changing weather conditions. Authorities recommend securing outdoor items and staying indoors during the storm.
