Wisconsin Police Responding to Hostage Situation Strike Body Lying in Roadway

Milwaukee, WI – Wisconsin police officers responding to a hostage situation early Saturday morning struck a body lying in the roadway on W. North Avenue.

According to the Milwaukee Police Department, the incident occurred around 2:36 a.m. The 57-year-old individual had been previously hit by a black older SUV, which fled the scene before officers arrived. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The officers involved, a 38-year-old with over four years of service and a 25-year-old with over six years of service, have been placed on administrative duty pending the investigation.

The Milwaukee Police Homicide Unit, assisted by the Wisconsin State Patrol, is investigating the incident. Authorities are searching for the SUV and its driver. Anyone with information is urged to contact Milwaukee Police or Crime Stoppers.
