Milwaukee, Wisconsin – Triple-digit heat indices are back across Wisconsin as oppressive humidity and soaring temperatures combine to create dangerous outdoor conditions through Monday evening.
According to the National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan, a Heat Advisory and Extreme Heat Warning remain in effect through 8 p.m. Monday, with dew points in the 70s and high temperatures in the 90s driving heat index values over 105° in parts of western and central Wisconsin. Southwest wind gusts up to 30 mph will exacerbate heat stress, especially in unshaded or poorly ventilated areas.
Cities including La Crosse, Madison, and Wisconsin Dells are expected to feel the brunt of the heat today, with heat indices topping 104°. Milwaukee and Waukesha could see heat index values between 95–98°, particularly in the afternoon hours. Residents are urged to avoid strenuous activity, stay in air-conditioned spaces, and check on vulnerable individuals, including the elderly and young children.
Never leave children or pets in parked vehicles. Hydrate frequently and take breaks if working outdoors. This level of heat is uncommon for June and poses a real risk of heat-related illness.
Advisories may be extended if conditions persist. Another update is expected Monday morning.
