Sturgeon Bay, WI – The Door County Sheriff’s Office is reminding parents and guardians to take extra care as children head out for Halloween trick-or-treating across the county tonight.
Deputies shared a list of key safety reminders, encouraging parents to accompany children, use crosswalks, and stay alert to surroundings. The post also urged families to check candy carefully before allowing kids to eat it and to remind children to walk, not run, between houses.
“If you see something, say something,” the department added, encouraging residents to call 911 immediately to report any dangerous or suspicious activity during Halloween festivities.
Door County deputies emphasized that awareness is the best way to ensure a fun and safe evening for everyone.
“Have a safe and fun Halloween!” the Sheriff’s Office posted, sharing its annual safety message with families countywide.
Trick-or-treating hours vary by municipality, and deputies will maintain a visible presence throughout neighborhoods Friday evening.
