Milwaukee, WI – Weakened winds and clearing skies will lead to a chilly night across much of south-central Wisconsin, with a Frost Advisory in effect from 2 to 9 a.m. Thursday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) Milwaukee/Sullivan.
The advisory covers areas along and west of a Wisconsin Dells–Madison–Janesville line, where overnight temperatures are expected to dip into the mid-30s. Patchy frost formation is likely in rural and low-lying areas as skies clear overnight.
According to the NWS, temperatures will range from 33°F in Berlin and Monroe to 37–39°F across southern portions of Dane, Rock, and Jefferson counties. Residents are urged to bring in cold-sensitive plants and protect outdoor vegetation before heading to bed.
The frost risk may extend into Thursday night and early Friday morning if clear skies persist, forecasters added. Daytime highs are expected to rebound into the upper 50s Thursday with mostly sunny conditions.
Motorists in rural areas may also encounter reduced visibility from early morning frost or fog before sunrise.
This marks one of the first widespread frost advisories of the fall season for Wisconsin, signaling a transition toward cooler, late-October weather patterns.
