GREEN BAY, Wis. – A quiet but breezy stretch is ahead for northeast Wisconsin following Columbus Day showers, as mild fall air gives way to a crisp cooldown by midweek. Light rain may dampen travel early Monday, but sunshine quickly rebounds Tuesday, ideal for kids heading back to school and fall yardwork.

According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, a weak system passing across central Wisconsin will bring scattered showers Monday, mainly before noon, before skies clear later in the day. Temperatures will reach the upper 60s Monday before dropping into the 40s at night. Winds from the south-southeast could gust near 20 mph along I-41 and Highway 29, especially through midday Monday.

By Tuesday, high pressure settles over the region, delivering mostly sunny skies and lighter winds. Highs near 61°F will feel comfortably cool—classic October air for outdoor workers and those planning fall leaf tours or pumpkin patch visits. The dry, bright stretch continues through Thursday, before another weak front late week brings limited shower chances into Friday and Saturday.

Travel across eastern Wisconsin should remain smooth most of the week, with no frost or freeze concerns expected until at least next weekend. Residents should use the next few days to prep gardens and outdoor setups ahead of colder air likely returning later this month.
