Wisconsin Dells, WI – A former Wisconsin Dells resident has been extradited to Columbia County following charges of child sexual assault that allegedly occurred more than a decade ago.

According to the Wisconsin Dells Police Department, Jeremy Allen Schertz, 52, was charged on June 4 with 1st Degree Sexual Assault of a Child stemming from an incident in 2012. Authorities issued a nationwide warrant for his arrest on June 25.

Police said Schertz was located in South Carolina and taken into custody by the Horry County Police Department on Aug. 12. He has since been returned to Wisconsin to face the charges.
