Monroe, WI – A 66-year-old Belleville man was arrested Friday morning following an Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) investigation that led authorities to execute a search warrant in the Town of Exeter.
According to the Green County Sheriff’s Office, deputies executed the warrant around 8 a.m. Friday with assistance from the Janesville Police Department, New Glarus Police Department, and the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation. The investigation stemmed from a cyber-tip initially referred through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Investigators reported that the cyber-tip involved suspected child sexual abuse material. Authorities allegedly recovered more than 70 additional images during the residential search. Sheriff’s officials said David C. Blandino, 66, of rural Belleville, was taken into custody and booked into the Green County Jail. Prosecutors have requested charges of possession of child pornography, a Class D felony.
The Green County Sheriff’s Office said its Detective Division is leading the case, with assistance from the Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigations Digital Forensics Unit. As of Friday evening, Blandino remained in custody at the Green County Jail.
Authorities emphasized that the charges are allegations and that Blandino is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
