According to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 12:08 p.m. to a collision at State Highway 16/60 and O’Sixteen Road in the town of Lowell. The crash involved a 2006 Buick Lacrosse and a 2015 Honda Pilot towing a trailer.
Investigators said the Buick, driven by 84-year-old Judith Scott-Steinberg of Reeseville, failed to yield the right-of-way before being struck by the Honda, which was driven by 73-year-old Robert Neufuss of Hartford. His 74-year-old wife, Judith Neufuss, was a passenger in the vehicle.
Scott-Steinberg was taken by ambulance to Marshfield Medical Center in Beaver Dam, then transferred to UW Hospital in Madison, where she died from her injuries on Saturday, Sept. 5. Robert Neufuss suffered minor injuries and was treated at Marshfield Medical Center, while Judith Neufuss was hospitalized with serious injuries.
The Clyman, Lowell, and Reeseville Fire Departments and first responders assisted at the scene, along with Watertown EMS and Beaver Dam EMS.
The crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.
