Green Bay, WI – Green Bay is in for a snowy week, with two rounds of snow expected to impact the area Wednesday night and again on Saturday. Residents should prepare for slippery roads, reduced visibility, and frigid temperatures as winter conditions intensify.
According to the National Weather Service, the first system will arrive late Wednesday, bringing light snow and accumulations between 1 to 2 inches overnight. Winds will be light at around 6 mph, but temperatures will drop to the low 20s, making for icy conditions by Thursday morning.
Thursday will offer a brief reprieve with partly sunny skies and highs near 33°F. However, another, potentially stronger system is expected to develop Saturday afternoon, bringing heavier snowfall and higher accumulations across Northeast Wisconsin. Road conditions could deteriorate quickly, especially in the evening hours.
Friday will be mostly sunny with highs around 22°F, allowing some melting before the next round of snow arrives. However, nighttime lows in the teens will keep roads slick, especially on bridges and overpasses.
By Saturday night, temperatures will dip to around 11°F, and winds could pick up, further reducing visibility. The system could linger into Sunday morning before clearing out, with Sunday’s high reaching just 26°F.
Drivers should plan for difficult travel conditions both Thursday morning and throughout the weekend. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation advises motorists to check road conditions before heading out and to allow extra time for commutes.
With more snow in the forecast, Green Bay residents should stay prepared with winter essentials and monitor local forecasts for updates.
