GREEN BAY, WI – Snow and strong winds are making travel hazardous across northeast Wisconsin, with conditions expected to deteriorate throughout Wednesday. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory until 9 p.m. for multiple counties, including Brown, Door, and Outagamie.

According to the National Weather Service, rain is transitioning into snow this afternoon, with up to 4 inches expected across portions of the Fox Valley. Winds will gust as high as 45 mph, creating areas of blowing and drifting snow. Roads will become slippery and snow-covered, and whiteout conditions are possible during peak evening commute hours.

Travel Impacts and Safety Measures

Motorists should prepare for delays and reduced visibility, especially on highways such as Interstate 41 and Highway 29. Ice accumulation is also a concern as temperatures drop into the 20s overnight, causing any residual slush to freeze. The Wisconsin Department of Transportationadvises drivers to slow down, use headlights, and allow extra travel time.
