Twin Lakes, WI – A 70-year-old man remains missing after a utility terrain vehicle (UTV) broke through the ice on Lake Elizabeth, prompting an ongoing search effort.
According to the Twin Lakes Police Department, the incident occurred when a UTV carrying three individuals fell through the ice. Two occupants managed to escape safely and were evaluated by Twin Lakes Rescue but declined further medical treatment. The third individual, a 70-year-old male, was unaccounted for as of Thursday evening.
Authorities, including the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR), are assisting in the search. Officials have warned that ice conditions on local lakes are unsafe and have urged residents to stay off the ice. Recovery efforts were paused overnight and were set to resume early Friday morning.
Emergency responders have asked the public to avoid the area as search operations continue. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
