Charleston, WV — Light precipitation and gusty winds will taper off later today and into tonight, according to the National Weather Service in Charleston. High pressure moves in behind the departing system, bringing drier and calmer weather through Monday.
Another weather system arrives Monday night into Tuesday, introducing the potential for a wintry mix across parts of the region, especially in the higher elevations. Precipitation may vary between rain, snow, or a mix depending on elevation and overnight temperatures.
By late Tuesday, precipitation coverage diminishes, allowing quieter and more stable weather to return for the middle of the week.
Temperatures across the mountains will range from the 30s and low 40s, with lows in the teens and 20s. Lowland communities can expect highs mostly in the 40s and lows in the 20s to low 30s through midweek.
Residents should monitor forecast updates, especially those traveling in higher terrain where mixed precipitation may cause slick spots Monday night into Tuesday.
