St. Cloud, MN – A winter weather advisory is in effect for parts of central Minnesota and western Wisconsin from Sunday night through noon Monday, with snowfall expected to create hazardous travel conditions.
According to the National Weather Service, snowfall will begin around 9 p.m. Sunday in central Minnesota and midnight in Wisconsin, with total accumulations ranging between 2 to 4 inches. Localized areas could see up to 6 inches, particularly in Benton, Morrison, Sherburne, and surrounding counties.
The heaviest snowfall is expected between midnight and sunrise Monday, with rates approaching 1 inch per hour at times. Road conditions will likely become slick, impacting the Monday morning commute.
Counties under the advisory include Benton, Stearns, Sherburne, Mille Lacs, Douglas, Pope, Stevens, Todd, and Morrison in Minnesota, as well as Barron, Polk, and Rusk in Wisconsin. Travelers are urged to slow down and use caution.
