Pueblo, CO – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for much of southern and eastern Colorado, with snow and gusty winds expected to create hazardous travel conditions through Wednesday.
According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, affected areas include Pueblo, Colorado Springs, Canon City, Walsenburg, and the Eastern Plains, where snowfall between 2 and 5 inches is forecast. Winds could gust up to 35 mph, leading to blowing snow and reduced visibility. Higher elevations, such as the Eastern San Juan and Southern Sangre de Cristo Mountains, may see additional accumulations and stronger winds up to 45 mph.
The advisory remains in place until 11 a.m. MST Wednesday for much of the Front Range and until 2 p.m. for the Eastern Plains, including Lamar, La Junta, and Bent County. Mountain areas will see conditions improve by 5 a.m.
