La Crosse, WI – The National Weather Service in La Crosse has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for parts of southeast Minnesota and central to west-central Wisconsin, effective from 3 p.m. Tuesday through 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Forecasters expect 1 to 4 inches of snow, with heavier bursts possible along and north of Interstate 94, where snowfall rates could reach 1 inch per hour during the evening. Cities including Wabasha, Sparta, Mauston, and Black River Falls are among the areas likely to see slippery and snow-covered roads.

The Tuesday evening commute may be especially impacted as snow spreads across the region. The National Weather Service advises drivers to slow down, increase following distance, and check 511mn.org or 511wi.gov for the latest road updates.

Snow is expected to taper off by early Wednesday morning, but slick spots may persist, particularly on bridges and untreated surfaces.

Residents are encouraged to monitor local forecasts for the latest winter weather updates.
