Burlington, VT – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for portions of northern New York and central, northwest, and southern Vermont through 10 p.m. Wednesday as snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches are expected.

According to the National Weather Service in Burlington, snowfall rates of up to half an inch per hour are expected between 3 a.m. and 3 p.m. Wednesday, leading to difficult travel conditions. Blowing snow could reduce visibility to below one mile, making both the morning and evening commutes hazardous.

Major affected areas include Montpelier, Stowe, Killington, Malone, Lake Placid, and Massena. Residents should prepare for slippery roads and delays. Authorities advise drivers to reduce speeds and allow extra travel time.

For updated road conditions, Vermont residents can check New England 511, while New York travelers can visit 511NY.
