Bingham, ME – A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Central Somerset County as snow is expected to impact the area from 2 PM Tuesday through 2 AM Wednesday.
A weak weather system moving through the region will bring light snowfall to areas including Long Pond, Seboomook, Bingham, Jackman, Pittston Farm, Moosehead, New Portland, and Brassua. The National Weather Service forecasts total snow accumulations between 3 and 6 inches.
According to the National Weather Service, snowbands could lead to periods of locally heavy snowfall, significantly reducing visibility and causing rapid snow accumulation. This will create dangerous travel conditions, especially on untreated roads. Drivers are urged to exercise caution and slow down.
