Oswego, NY – A winter weather advisory remains in effect across the Eastern Lake Ontario region as snow continues to fall throughout the evening. The advisory, issued by the National Weather Service, will last from 8 PM tonight until 6 PM Tuesday, April 8.
According to the National Weather Service, snowfall totals will range between 4 to 9 inches, with higher amounts expected across the Tug Hill Plateau. Winds may gust up to 45 mph, leading to blowing snow and poor visibility, particularly in elevated areas like the Tug Hill and higher terrain east of the Black River Valley.
Motorists are advised to slow down and exercise caution, as hazardous conditions could affect travel, especially during the Tuesday morning and evening commutes. Snow-covered roads and reduced visibility will make travel difficult. Local authorities are urging drivers to remain alert and report any significant snow accumulation through their website or social media channels.
With these dangerous conditions expected to persist into the morning, residents are reminded to prepare for travel delays and adverse weather impacts.
