Green Bay, WI – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for parts of Wisconsin as snowfall and strong winds are expected to create hazardous travel conditions through Wednesday evening.
According to the National Weather Service, the advisory remains active until 6 p.m. Wednesday, impacting counties including Waushara, Menominee, Northern Oconto, Shawano, Southern Marinette, Southern Oconto, and Waupaca. Snow accumulations between 2 and 4 inches are expected, with wind gusts reaching up to 45 mph.
Motorists should prepare for slippery roads and reduced visibility due to blowing snow. The hazardous conditions could make the Wednesday morning and evening commutes particularly difficult. Additionally, strong winds may lead to downed tree branches and isolated power outages.
Residents are advised to slow down, drive cautiously, and check road conditions by calling 511. Travelers should also be prepared for rapidly changing weather conditions and allow extra travel time.
The winter storm is expected to taper off by Wednesday evening, but lingering wind gusts may continue to impact visibility. Stay updated with local forecasts and advisories to remain safe.
