Albany, NY – Snow showers and colder temperatures will impact the Albany region starting Monday as a winter weather advisory takes effect. Residents can expect light snow accumulations of 1 to 2 inches locally, while areas in the Adirondacks, including Old Forge, could see up to 6 inches.

According to the National Weather Service, a clipper system will bring scattered snow showers Monday afternoon, followed by an arctic front overnight into Tuesday. Gusty winds reaching up to 28 mph will make temperatures feel even colder, with wind chills dropping below zero in some areas. Drivers should plan for slippery road conditions, especially on major routes like I-87 and I-90, and allow extra travel time during morning and evening commutes.

Looking ahead, the forecast shows a stronger snow system likely arriving Tuesday night into Wednesday, bringing heavier accumulations of 4 to 6 inches to higher elevations. Temperatures will plunge midweek, with lows in the single digits and highs barely reaching the 20s.
