Burlington, VT – A significant winter storm will bring widespread snowfall to Vermont tonight, creating hazardous road conditions into Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service in Burlington, the storm is expected to produce 3 to 6 inches of snow across central, northwest, and southern Vermont. The heaviest snowfall rates will occur between 3 a.m. and 3 p.m. Wednesday, with accumulation reaching up to half an inch per hour.

Snow squalls could intensify conditions in central and southern areas, leading to reduced visibility and gusty winds. Blowing snow may further impact travel, especially during the Wednesday morning and evening commutes.

Officials advise drivers to slow down and remain cautious. Slippery roads and low visibility could make travel difficult. Those needing to commute should check road conditions at New England 511 for Vermont updates and 511NY for New York conditions.

The Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 10 p.m. Wednesday. Residents should prepare for changing conditions and potential travel disruptions.
