Wakefield, Va. – The National Weather Service in Wakefield reports cool, dry, and mostly sunny conditions today, but a low pressure system will bring widespread rain and a brief period of light freezing rain or wintry mix early Tuesday morning across parts of central Virginia.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 1 AM to 11 AM Tuesday for Fluvanna and western Louisa counties, where ice accumulations of a light glaze may create slick bridges and untreated roads.

Most areas will transition to plain rain by late Tuesday morning, with rainfall totals of 0.5–1.5 inches expected. Dry and seasonably cool weather will return for Thursday and Friday.
