Portland, OR – A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for elevations above 3,500 feet in the South Washington Cascades and the Northern and Central Cascades of Oregon from 5 p.m. Wednesday to 11 p.m. Thursday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Portland.
The advisory warns of 6 to 11 inches of snowfall, which could create hazardous travel conditions, especially on roads, bridges, and overpasses. Locations affected include Santiam Pass, Government Camp, Willamette Pass, and Mt. St. Helens, among others.
Officials urge travelers to carry a winter emergency kit, including flashlights, blankets, food, and tire chains. Walking surfaces may also be slick, increasing the risk of falls.
