Boston, MA – A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for central and western Massachusetts starting Wednesday night. The National Weather Service predicts widespread snowfall of 2 to 5 inches, with some areas reaching 6 inches in higher elevations. The advisory begins at 8 p.m. Wednesday and lasts until 10 a.m. Thursday.

According to the National Weather Service, the snow will impact areas including Springfield, Pittsfield, and Greenfield, with travel conditions expected to deteriorate. Roads may become slick, and visibility could decrease, especially in the early morning hours. Drivers are urged to use caution and prepare for possible delays.

Temperatures will remain near freezing, increasing the risk of ice accumulation on roads and sidewalks. Commuters are encouraged to check local forecasts and plan accordingly.

Snowfall is expected to taper off by mid-morning Thursday. Residents in the affected regions should monitor updates from the National Weather Service and local officials for any changes.
