Medford, WI – Taylor County residents are advised to prepare for slick travel conditions Sunday morning as a mix of snow and ice is expected to impact the region.
According to the National Weather Service in La Crosse, a Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect from 4 a.m. to 10 a.m. CDT Sunday. Forecasters predict snow accumulations of up to one inch combined with a light glaze of ice, primarily affecting roads in and around Medford.
The advisory warns of hazardous conditions that could complicate early travel, especially on untreated roads. Drivers are urged to slow down and use caution during the morning hours. Commuters and early travelers can monitor road conditions at 511wi.gov.
While the expected snow and ice amounts are relatively modest, the timing may coincide with early morning activity, increasing the likelihood of travel delays. This marks a return to colder, wintry conditions for north-central Wisconsin after a stretch of milder March weather.
Residents are encouraged to prepare for slippery sidewalks and driveways and to allow extra time if driving. The National Weather Service continues to monitor conditions and may update forecasts as the system approaches.
