Quinwood, WV – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for Western Greenbrier County until 4 p.m. Thursday, as snow and high winds continue to create hazardous conditions in the area.

According to the National Weather Service in Blacksburg, additional snow accumulation of up to two inches is expected, with wind gusts reaching up to 55 mph. These conditions are likely to make roads, bridges, and overpasses slick and hazardous, particularly during the Thursday morning commute. Areas of blowing snow may also significantly reduce visibility.

Residents are advised to exercise caution while traveling and to slow down on potentially icy roads. Strong winds could result in downed trees and power lines, leading to potential power outages. The advisory also warns of the risk of slips and falls on untreated sidewalks, stairs, and driveways.

For the latest road conditions, residents are encouraged to call 511. Those venturing outdoors should be mindful of icy surfaces and take precautions to avoid injury.
