Boise, ID – A winter weather advisory remains in effect until 5 a.m. Thursday for high-elevation areas in the Boise Mountains and West Central Mountains.

The National Weather Service reports that snowfall will accumulate between 2 to 6 inches in mountain valleys above 4,500 feet, with higher elevations, such as Banner Summit, expecting a foot or more. Winds are predicted to gust between 25 and 35 mph, potentially causing hazardous travel conditions.

Residents and travelers should exercise caution, particularly on roads, bridges, and overpasses, which may become slick and icy. Those venturing outdoors should also be mindful of icy surfaces on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways.

For real-time road conditions, Idaho travelers can dial 511.
