Colorado – A winter weather advisory remains in effect until 6 a.m. Wednesday for areas above 11,000 feet in the Eastern Sawatch Mountains and the Western Mosquito Range, including Bonanza and Climax.
The National Weather Service issued the advisory at 8:40 p.m. Tuesday, warning of additional snow accumulations of up to two inches and winds gusting up to 50 mph.
According to the National Weather Service, the hazardous conditions will continue through the night, making roads slick and travel difficult. Widespread blowing snow may reduce visibility, especially in mountain passes.
Travelers are urged to slow down and exercise caution while driving in these areas. For the latest road conditions, travelers can check with 511 for state-specific updates.
The warning is expected to remain in effect until 6 a.m. Wednesday, with conditions gradually improving as the snow and winds subside. However, the mountains and passes may continue to experience challenging weather for the remainder of the night.
