BURLINGTON, VT – The National Weather Service in Burlington has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for much of northern New York and central to northern Vermont, effective 7 AM Wednesday through early Thursday morning.
🌨️ What to Expect
- Snow Totals:
- Most areas: 3–7 inches.
- Localized higher amounts: Up to 7 inches possible in elevated terrain, especially across the Adirondacks, Green Mountains, and Northeast Kingdom.
- Winds: Occasional gusts may cause blowing snow and reduced visibility, particularly in open areas and along mountain passes.

- In New York: St. Lawrence, Franklin, and Essex Counties.
- In Vermont: Essex, Orleans, Franklin, Lamoille, Caledonia, Washington, Rutland, Windsor, Orange, Addison, and Chittenden Counties.
🕓 Timing
- Morning (7–10 AM): Snow begins across northern New York and spreads eastward into Vermont.
- Late Morning to Afternoon (10 AM–4 PM): Heaviest snow falls during this period, reducing visibility and coating roads quickly.
- Evening through Overnight: Snow becomes lighter but continues through early Thursday morning.

- Slippery and snow-covered roads expected on major routes including I-89, I-91, and Route 11.
- Reduced visibility in heavier snow bands and blowing snow.
