ALBANY, NY – The National Weather Service in Albany has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for portions of the southern Adirondacks, Mohawk Valley, and Upper Hudson Valley, effective from 4 AM Wednesday through 1 AM Thursday.
🌨️ What to Expect
- Snowfall Totals:
- Northern Saratoga, Warren, Washington, and Ulster Counties: 2–6 inches, with localized 6–7 inches possible in the southern Adirondack foothills.
- Southern Herkimer County: 2–4 inches south of I-90, but 4–8 inches north of the Thruway.
- Snowfall Rates: Up to 0.5 to 1 inch per hour during the morning and early afternoon.
- Additional Snow: Light lake effect snow showers late tonight through Thursday morning, adding another 1–3 inches.
🕓 Timing
- Early Morning (4–9 AM): Snow develops and intensifies — expect slick roads for the morning commute.
- Afternoon: Some areas near I-90 may briefly mix with rain before changing back to snow.
- Evening: Snow tapers to scattered showers but remains locally heavy in lake effect areas.
