Salt Lake City, UT – A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for the Wasatch Mountains north of Interstate 80, including Mantua and Logan Summit, as heavy snowfall is expected from Friday afternoon through Monday afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service in Salt Lake City, the storm could bring 1 to 2 feet of snow above 7,000 feet, with localized areas in the Bear River Range potentially receiving more than 2 feet. Snow accumulation will be heaviest over the weekend, with snow levels rising to around 7,000 feet by Saturday afternoon and remaining steady through Monday.
Travel conditions may become hazardous, with traction law restrictions possible in affected areas. Motorists should prepare for difficult driving conditions, particularly in mountain passes.
Residents and travelers are advised to monitor updates from the National Weather Service and check the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) website for real-time road conditions.
