Green Bay, WI – Winter storm warnings are in effect across Minnesota and Wisconsin as a strong snowstorm is forecast to drop up to 10 inches of snow in parts of the region. The storm is set to arrive Thursday morning and continue into early Friday, bringing hazardous travel conditions.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the heaviest snowfall is expected near Lake Michigan, with Door, Kewaunee, and Manitowoc counties potentially seeing totals of up to 12 inches due to lake-enhanced snow. Central Wisconsin counties, including Marathon, Portage, and Outagamie, are forecast to receive 5 to 9 inches. In southeastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin, totals are expected to range from 5 to 7 inches.
The storm will likely disrupt Thursday’s morning and evening commutes, with slippery roads and low visibility creating dangerous conditions. Residents are urged to prepare emergency kits, monitor local forecasts, and check 511wi.gov for real-time road updates.
