Amarillo, TX – A winter storm warning remains in effect across the Texas Panhandle, bringing heavy snowfall and hazardous road conditions.
According to the National Weather Service in Amarillo, affected counties, including Potter, Carson, Randall, Armstrong, Dallam, Sherman, Hartley, and Moore, can expect total snow accumulations of 4 to 5 inches in some areas, with additional snowfall between 2 and 4 inches in others. The warning extends until midnight CST for Potter, Carson, Randall, and Armstrong counties, while it will remain in place until midnight for the area.
Authorities urge motorists to avoid travel if possible and to carry emergency supplies, including food, water, and a flashlight, in case of emergencies. Roads, bridges, and overpasses are expected to become slick and hazardous. For updated road conditions, travelers can call 800-452-9292.
