Grand Marais, MN – A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from noon Sunday to noon Monday, with forecasters expecting heavy, wet snow across Southern Cook County, including the Grand Portage Reservation.
The National Weather Service in Duluth predicts total snowfall accumulations of 6 to 9 inches, beginning Sunday afternoon and continuing through Monday morning. This storm is expected to produce dense, wet snow due to lower snow-to-liquid ratios, potentially leading to hazardous travel conditions.
According to the warning, the snowfall could significantly impact Monday morning commutes, and drivers are advised to prepare for difficult travel. The NWS recommends keeping emergency supplies, including a flashlight, food, and water, in vehicles.
For the latest road conditions, residents are encouraged to call 511 or visit www.511mn.org.
Stay informed and take necessary precautions to ensure safety during the storm.
