Portland, OR – A winter weather mix of rain and snow is set to arrive Saturday night, continuing into early next week. Residents should prepare for slick roads, possible travel delays, and fluctuating temperatures.

According to the National Weather Service, rain will fall throughout Saturday, with temperatures reaching 43°F. By nightfall, colder air will drop snow levels to 1,000 feet, bringing a mix of rain and snow. On Sunday, snow levels will lower further to 400 feet, increasing the chance of accumulating snowfall in lower elevations.

Monday’s forecast calls for snow in the morning, shifting to a wintry mix later in the day. Temperatures will hover around 40°F during the day but dip into the 20s at night, increasing the risk of ice.

Drivers should use caution on bridges and overpasses, as icy conditions could develop. Those traveling through the Cascades should expect heavy snowfall and possible chain requirements.

By Tuesday, the system begins to taper off, but lingering snow showers remain possible. Stay updated with the latest weather alerts and plan accordingly for winter travel conditions.
