Winter Storm to Bring Up to 24 Inches of Snow to Utah Mountains by Friday

Salt Lake City, UT – A winter storm warning is in effect for the Western Uinta Mountains from 6 a.m. Thursday through midnight Friday. Snowfall totals could range between 12 to 24 inches. The National Weather Service warns of hazardous road conditions, particularly on bridges and overpasses.

Travel in the area could become difficult, and traction laws may be enforced. Residents should prepare for slick roads and ensure vehicles are equipped for winter conditions. Rain below 9,000 feet will turn to snow Thursday night with the heaviest accumulation expected late Thursday into Friday.
