Sacramento, CA – A series of storms is set to impact Northern California starting Sunday, bringing heavy mountain snow, widespread rain, and strong winds through Wednesday night.

According to the National Weather Service in Sacramento, the active weather pattern kicks off Sunday with light rain and mountain snow spreading across the region. Gusty southerly winds are expected, with snow levels ranging from 5,000 to 6,000 feet.

Monday will see a significant uptick in intensity, as moderate to heavy rain and snow move in. Thunderstorms are possible, particularly in the Sacramento Valley, with snow levels dropping to around 4,000–5,000 feet.

Mountain communities should brace for continued snowfall Tuesday, especially as another round of storms arrives in the afternoon. Snow levels may fall to as low as 3,000 feet, impacting travel across the Sierra.

By Wednesday, snow could reach elevations of 3,500 feet in the morning before gradually lifting. Thursday brings yet another system, likely to continue rain and snow with further travel delays and possible urban flooding.

Residents are urged to prepare for power outages, check local road conditions via Caltrans, and delay mountain travel when possible during peak storm periods.
