Albuquerque, NM – The National Weather Service in Albuquerque is warning drivers of dangerous winter driving conditions across central and northern New Mexico tonight as snow and freezing temperatures combine to make roads extremely slick.

Live traffic cameras from I-25 (Upper La Bajada, Las Vegas, and Glorieta Pass) and I-40 (Moriarty and Tijeras Canyon) show snow-covered and icy pavement, with visibility reduced in some mountain areas such as Bobcat Pass.

Forecasters warn that temperatures will continue to drop overnight, causing additional icing on untreated roadways, bridges, and overpasses. Even areas that have been plowed may see refreezing by early Thursday morning.

Drivers are urged to avoid unnecessary travel, reduce speed, and allow extra distance for braking. Those who must travel should use extreme caution, particularly in higher elevations and passes.
