Winston-Salem, NC – A 73-year-old Winston-Salem man has been arrested after allegedly violating a domestic violence protective order, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO). The incident occurred early Thursday, November 6, in the 2900 block of Hickman Lane.
According to FCSO officials, a domestic violence victim was able to escape her residence after being held against her will and contacted law enforcement. Deputies were informed that the suspect, her spouse, had entered the home during the night and prevented her from leaving or using the phone.
When officers arrived, they located the suspect sitting in his vehicle nearby and conducted a traffic stop, taking him into custody.
Following an investigation, authorities arrested Brian Justin Racin, 73, of Winston-Salem. He was charged with three felony counts — including Breaking and Entering, Second Degree Kidnapping, and Larceny After Breaking and Entering. Racin also faces misdemeanor charges for Violation of a Domestic Violence Protective Order and Interfering with Emergency Communications.
Officials said Racin is being held in the Forsyth County Detention Center with no bond and is scheduled to appear in court Friday, November 7, 2025, in Courtroom 205 of the county courthouse.
Chief Deputy Henry C. Gray, Jr. emphasized that the sheriff’s office “takes domestic violence issues seriously and will not tolerate abusers who violate and place others in fear.”
