Guilford County, NC – Two additional suspects have been arrested in connection with the homicide investigation of Amber Marie Schimmelpfenning, whose dismembered remains were discovered last month in Guilford County and Winston-Salem, according to the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO).

According to Sheriff Danny H. Rogers, detectives located Schimmelpfenning’s missing Chevrolet Avalanche at a residence on the 4800 block of Oakdale Drive in Winston-Salem on September 19, 2025, where human remains were also found. Parts of the victim’s body were missing from the scene.

Two days later, on September 21, deputies responded to Lake Higgins in Summerfield, where additional body parts were recovered following a search. Identification is pending confirmation by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Raleigh.

After coordination between multiple agencies, including the Forsyth County District Attorney’s Office and the Winston-Salem Police Department, detectives secured arrest warrants for Leslie Andrew Greene, 50, and Sunshine Hall, 44. Both face charges of felony accessory after the fact to first-degree murder and failure to report an unnatural death.

Greene was arrested in High Point on October 2 and received a $500,000 bond. Hall was later taken into custody on October 8 by Greensboro Police’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team and remains jailed without bond.

A third individual, Ricky Lam, remains held at the Guilford County Detention Center under no bond as the investigation continues.
