Winnipeg, MB – A man is back in custody today after police allege he entered a Winnipeg high school twice in November, including once during school hours, according to the Winnipeg Police Service (WPS).

According to WPS, investigators with the Child Abuse Unit began reviewing two separate incidents after the Louis Riel School Division reported concerns on December 1, 2025. Surveillance video showed a man wandering through the building on two different dates, though officials say no injuries or threats occurred.

Police say the first incident happened on November 20, 2025, after school hours. The man allegedly entered the school, roamed the hallways, and left with a laptop taken from a vacant classroom. Staff reportedly did not notice the intrusion until they later reviewed video footage.

The second incident occurred on November 27, 2025, this time during active school hours. Police say the man wandered both floors of the school until staff confronted him and escorted him out. The incident was not reported to police until December 1.

WPS says investigators attended the Provincial Remand Centre on December 9, 2025, where they re-arrested 28-year-old Scott William George on a warrant connected to both incidents. He has been charged with Theft Under $5,000 and Fail to Comply with Prohibition Regarding Children (×2). All allegations remain unproven in court.

GEORGE remains in custody as the investigation continues.
