Winnipeg, MB – A Guns and Gangs Unit investigation led to a $20,000 cocaine seizure and two arrests in Winnipeg’s Seven Oaks neighborhood this week.
According to the Winnipeg Police Service, officers began investigating a drug trafficking operation earlier in September. On September 24, just after 7:00 p.m., police stopped a vehicle in the 200 block of Belmont Avenue, arresting a 31-year-old man. Officers allegedly found a cannister of bear spray and nearly $4,000 in Canadian currency during the search.
Later that evening, just before 8:00 p.m., police executed a search warrant at a nearby residence with assistance from the Tactical Support Team. A 27-year-old woman was taken into custody.
Investigators reported seizing 288 grams of cocaine with an estimated street value of $20,000, $340 in Canadian currency, electronic scales, and additional drug packaging materials.
Police say the 27-year-old woman has been charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000. She was released on an appearance notice.
