Winnipeg, MB – A man is in custody after a violent string of incidents in the Tyndall Park area Wednesday morning, where multiple victims had their vehicle windows smashed and were allegedly threatened at knifepoint. All incidents occurred between 10:10 a.m. and 10:14 a.m. on November 12.

According to Winnipeg Police, the disturbance began around 10:10 a.m. when a man was seen acting erratically while holding a knife near Keewatin Street and Burrows Avenue. Investigators say a 2014 Honda CRV stopped at the intersection was first targeted when its passenger-side window was smashed by the suspect.

Minutes later, officers say the same man allegedly smashed the driver’s side window of an unoccupied 2022 Honda Civic parked in the 800 block of Keewatin Street. Police report he then moved toward a nearby restaurant, smashing two windows and causing more than $5,000 in damage as employees held the doors shut to prevent him from entering.

At the same Keewatin and Burrows intersection, the suspect allegedly smashed the passenger window of a 2017 Chevy Silverado and then moved to the driver’s side where he held a knife to the throat of the driver, threatening to stab him.

Police say the suspect continued to a pharmacy in the 700 block of Keewatin Street, where he allegedly held a knife to an employee’s throat before releasing her and causing an estimated $80,000 in damage inside the business.

North District officers located the suspect at 10:14 a.m. A knife was recovered, and no injuries were reported.

Police identified the suspect as Manny Rae Chudrick, 26, who faces multiple charges including Assault with a Weapon, Mischief Over $5,000, Uttering Threats, and failing to comply with release conditions. Officers also learned he was already wanted on an arrest warrant for additional compliance-related offences. He was detained in custody.
