Winnipeg, MB – Two people were taken into custody early Tuesday morning after police responded to reports of gunfire and an argument near Furby Street, leading to the discovery of a loaded Glock handgun and ammunition.

According to the Winnipeg Police Service, officers with the Central District General Patrol were called to the 1–99 block of Furby Street just before 5:30 a.m. on November 4, 2025, following multiple reports of shots fired. Officers arrested a man at the scene and recovered a single 9mm round of ammunition. A woman allegedly connected to the incident was later seen entering a nearby apartment building.

With assistance from the Tactical Support Team and Firearms Investigation Enforcement Unit, police executed a search warrant at around 1:00 p.m., seizing a loaded Glock 9mm handgun and a magazine containing ammunition.

Alexia Dawn Acoby-Stoney, 23, has been charged with several firearm-related offenses, including unauthorized possession of a firearm and possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted weapon. She remains in custody.

A 21-year-old man was also detained and charged with possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order. An 18-year-old woman and another 21-year-old man were released without charges.
