Investigators said Harrison, who was a passenger, allegedly approached and physically assaulted a 6-year-old boy without provocation. The child was not injured, and the bus operator directed the suspect off the bus.
Shortly afterward, police say Harrison allegedly entered a nearby retail store, selected a baseball bat and struck a school-aged child in the upper body, knocking the child to the ground. The child’s father intervened and fought off the suspect before he fled. The injured child was transported to hospital in stable condition and treated.
At about 12:09 p.m., officers responded to a collision repair centre in the same block after staff reported a theft. Police allege Harrison stole a customer’s vehicle keys before being arrested without further incident.
