According to the Winnipeg Police Service, officers responded to a commercial robbery on Friday, January 24, at approximately 5:38 a.m. in the 200 block of Henderson Highway, near Poplar Avenue. East District General Patrol officers, assisted by a K-9 unit, were dispatched to the scene.
Police say the suspect was armed with an edged weapon and allegedly went behind the counter to take cash from the till before fleeing the restaurant on foot. No injuries were reported during the incident.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian man, approximately 28 to 30 years old, about 5 feet 5 inches tall, with a small build. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a brown jacket with a white stripe down the arms, dark pants, and was carrying a dark backpack.
