Winnipeg, MB – Two men are in custody following a targeted drug trafficking and firearms investigation in Winnipeg’s Elmwood neighborhood, with police seizing weapons, narcotics, and suspected stolen property during a search earlier this week.

According to the Winnipeg Police Service, officers executed a search warrant on Watt Street in the 1–99 block on Wednesday, April 23, with assistance from General Patrol, Tactical Support, and Drone Units. Two adult male suspects were arrested at the residence without incident.

Investigators say the search uncovered multiple prohibited firearms, including a loaded .22 caliber semi-automatic rifle with ammunition and a sawed-off rifle, along with a 50-round drum magazine. Officers also seized 174 grams of methamphetamine, 50 grams of fentanyl, and smaller amounts of hydromorphone. The estimated combined street value of the drugs exceeds $13,000.

Additional items recovered included cell phones, drug packaging materials, Milwaukee-brand power tools valued at approximately $10,000, and $1,725 in cash.

Police identified the suspects as Edward Dwayne McNabb, 40, and Robert Jeffery McNabb, 44. Both men have been charged with multiple offenses, including drug trafficking, possession of prohibited firearms, possession of stolen property, and proceeds of crime. According to police, the suspects allegedly played a role in local drug distribution and were linked to recent overdose activity in the community.

Authorities say the investigation was launched in April after multiple reports from residents raised concerns about suspected drug activity at the home.

Both men remain in custody as the investigation continues.
